Although the school accepts students in the seventh through twelfth grades, the program is essentially ungraded permitting flexibility in individual educational planning. All students are initially assessed for curriculum planning and placement and may receive an educational screening. They also receive a clinical evaluation. This dual process leads to the formation of the Comprehensive Educational Plan; an outline of goals and objectives for each student’s academic progress that also includes a relevant clinical plan. Each student’s academic progress is monitored and adjusted along with their therapeutic progress, to insure that their goals will be reached. Each student’s plan is developed to keep them on track for graduating according to the New York State or Connecticut State Education Department guidelines.
