Westfield students benefit from a learning experience which combines smaller classrooms with additional individualized support. The students’ overall learning experience is thereby enhanced when specialized and individualized attention is required to address emotional or learning challenges. The goal is always to provide strategies that enable students to achieve academic and social success, helping them to gain confidence and develop skills.
The Academic Support program can address:
Our Learning Specialist monitors the progress of all students, intervenes as needed, and works with both the students and teachers to help create a Comprehensive Educational Plan. Previously underachieving students, once feeling safe and supported, can begin to realize their academic potential.
The Westfield Day School, a therapeutic school for students in grades 7-12, was founded in Rye, New York, in 2000 by Peter M. Schoenholtz, LCSW, the current owner and director.*
